Make a Cheap Lightbox

Check out this Restless Colour video tutorial on How to Make a Cheap Lightbox using two picture frames. If you don't know what a light box is check out this video which show's just one of the many used, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oySFs85ZHX0 The light that I added in was just to display what you can use, as a safety precaution I would strongly recommend you DON'T rest a HOT light-bulb on a wood base. This is not meant to be a professional lightbox but rather act as an alternative to paying heaps of money for something that probably won't get used very often.

  1. Great tutorial. Easy to follow. Got a pair of quick questions for you.

    1) is there a way to attach the top piece so it doesn't slide around while using it?

    2) How did you rig up the bulb to work outside of a light socket?

  2. Yo Andrew,
    Thanks for the comment.

In regards to your first question, I stopped the sliding on mine by adding Blu-Tac to each of the four corners. I'm not too sure what your American equivalent is but it looks like this- http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaHhELZP1Kg/SMSh37dlI3I/AAAAAAAAAZQ/tut9FkSPHPs/s400/blu_tack_003.jpg

In regards to the light source, I used a cheap lamp from IKEA which are generally really easy to dismantle but you could use pretty much anything as light source as long as it's bright enough. I've even used flat LED torches that look like this- http://www.mostbuying.com/images/upload/Image/48-LED-UFO-Lantern-Camping-Tent-Umbrella-Light-Lamp-with-Hanger_1.jpg

    Hope this helps you out.
